Hooda also took a dig at Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi on Friday saying Haryana had a higher per capita income and investment than Gujarat.

“I don’t know what the Gujarat model is. I only know the Haryana model. And we are on top,” Hooda said at an exposition on investment opportunities in Sonepat-Kundli.

He said Haryana was ahead of Gujarat in terms of per capita plan expenditure, per capita income, per capita investment and resource mobilisation. He also disputed Modi’s claim that Delhiites drink tea made of milk produced in Gujarat, saying Haryana had more per capita milk production than Gujarat.

“When my friend Mr Modi came to SRCC in Delhi University,I heard him saying that anybody in Delhi who takes a cup of tea, drinks milk from Gujarat. But per capita production of milk in Gujarat is hardly 500 grams while the same is is 780 grams in Haryana,” he said.

Hooda emphasised that the best model of development should be judged on the basis of some parameters. “Resource mobilisation… is 96.5 per cent in Gujarat, and it is 192 per cent (in 11th Plan) in Haryana. We are ahead of Gujarat in per capita income as well as per capita investment,” the Chief Minister said.
