Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar Thursday directed the Commissioner of the Municipal Corporation of Gurugram (MCG) to impose a fine of Rs 25 lakh on the company responsible for waste management in the district, for neglecting the dumping point near the Old Jail Chowk in the city.

The direction was given after the CM visited the ground in the morning. Speaking to the media, Khattar said, “A provision has been made to ensure cleanliness and hygiene here, as per which a company has to undertake door to door waste collection, daily removal of garbage from dumping points… I have been receiving complaints that waste is not picked up from here regularly.”
