All residential sectors to be covered,Transport to procure 100 buses
The Transport department in Gurgaon has announced that it will provide bus services for all residential sectors,with buses running at a frequency of 10 minutes.
The department is in the process of procuring 100 buses,and the service is expected to begin in four months time.
Director General of Transport Arun Kumar said on Monday that initially around 10 routes will be chalked out in a way that all sectors are covered.

He said new Gurgaon will have three routes,in the form of a loop. The loop model is based on Delhis Mudrika service,where buses ply in clockwise and anti-clockwise directions.
Old Gurgaon will also have three similar routes,said the Director General of Transport.
According to Transport department officials,there will be one trunk route from Manesar to Delhi border toll plaza. This route will also take the commuters up to Karol Bagh in Central Delhi. Around 25 buses would ply on this route.
The timing of this intra-city bus service will be from 6 am to 10 pm,and drivers and conductors will work in two shifts.
The fare for normal buses will be Rs 5,10 and 15,depending on the distance travelled. The fare for AC buses will be higher,said Kumar.
The department has shortlisted Sector-29 as the parking area of the buses as it has three acres of land in the area. HUDA and MCG will be entrusted with the job of constructing bus queue shelters.
Officials said of the 100 buses,40 will be standard Haryana Roadways buses,40 will be semi low-floor type and 20 will be AC buses.
Radio cab service launched
Gurgaon: A private company on Monday launched Gurgaons first 24 hours radio cab service,Super Cabz,with 47 taxi cabs. A venture of infrastructure developers Surya Infracon Pvt Ltd,the cabs can be booked by calling 4100 4100. The fare has been fixed at Rs 10 per kilometre.
According to officials,the cabs are equipped with features like in-car credit card payment option,GPRS tracking,mobile data terminals,digital meters,newspaper,bill amount confirmation by SMS,etc.
Ankit Raghav,founder and CEO of Super Cabz,said,Super Cabz is first economy radio taxi operating from Gurgaon.
The night charges of the service is Rs 12.50 per km. The company plans to increase the number cabs in its fleet to 250 by the end of the year.
