(Representational image)The police have arrested a woman after a video of her allegedly dragging and assaulting an eight-year-old boy at a housing society in Greater Noida’s West Gaur City went viral, officials said on Thursday.
The incident took place outside the elevator of a residential building in 12th Avenue on Wednesday after the boy requested the woman not to bring her per dogs inside the lift, the police said.
“My son was returning from his tuition classes and was inside the lift of the B tower on 12th Avenue. Suddenly, the woman entered the lift with two dogs. My son, on seeing the dogs, got scared and requested her to let him go,” the boy’s mother, Kanika Arora, stated in her complaint.

In the purported video, the boy can be seen requesting the woman who was in turn seen slapping the child.
“We took an immediate cognisance of the video, filed the First Information Report (FIR) in relevant sections and have arrested the woman,” said Shakti Mohan Avasthy, Deputy Commissioner of Police.
