Gang war averted with shooter’s arrest, say Delhi Police
The police said an alleged Gogi gang member who was on his way to murder a member of a rival gang was arrested on Saturday with a country-made pistol and a live cartridge.

(Representational Photo)The Delhi Police said on Monday that a potential gang war was averted in Outer North Delhi with the arrest of a 25-year-old man allegedly associated with the Gogi gang.
According to the police, Ankit, an alleged Gogi gang member, was arrested on Saturday with a country-made pistol and a live cartridge. The police said Ankit was on his way to assassinate a rival gang member in retaliation for the murder of Amit Lakra, his fellow gang member. Lakra had been shot dead by a member of the Tillu Tajpuriya gang in Mundka on November 13.
According to the police, Ankit allegedly revealed that he was following orders received from gangster Monty Maan via the Signal app. Ankit, who was previously involved in a 2022 illegal arms and attempted murder case, allegedly admitted during interrogation that the firearm was provided by gang member Bholu from Alipur.
According to the police, Ankit’s arrest was part of its operation targeting active gang members and sleeper cells in the outer parts of Delhi. Efforts are on to track down the other accused and an FIR has been registered under the Arms Act, the police added.
In a parallel operation, personnel from the Narela police station arrested Rahul Kumar during a routine patrol near Sector 7 in Narela. Rahul had a country-made pistol and a live cartridge in his possession, the police said. Rahul, who has been named in a 2022 attempt to murder case, was taken into custody, and an FIR under the Arms Act was registered against him, the police added.
