Godman held for raping Afghan national: Police

Police have arrested a self-proclaimed godman for allegedly raping a 24-year-old Afghan national. “The accused, who was on the run, was caught by police from his hideout,” said an officer.

The incident took place in Amar Colony area, said police. “The woman said she had approached the godman to seek his blessings as she was not doing well in her career. She alleged that the godman gave her some prasad laced with sedatives and raped her when she fell unconscious,” said the officer.

She also accused the godman of threatening to kill her if she approached the police. “The complainant claimed she paid him Rs 10 lakh as she was under the influence of black magic,” added the officer.
