Just as in the ICSE examination results declared recently,girls have outdone their male counterparts in the CBSE Class XII results in Gurgaon.
Suchita Banthia,a student of Blue Bells Model School topped in the science stream scoring 98.2 per cent marks, while Harsh Arora,a student of DAV Public School,topped the commerce stream securing 96.4 per cent marks.
In the humanities stream,Akansha Kataria,a student of DAV Public School,secured 94 per cent marks to come at the top.
The toppers were quick to attribute their success to their teachers,parents and their hard work.
I studied for close to eight to ten hours every day. This stretched to 12-13 hours during exam time. I want to pursue electronic engineering after which I will appear for the civil service examination. Now that my hard work has paid off,it is time to party, an elated Suchita told Newsline.
She was quick to point out that it could not have happened without her familys support. During exam time,my parents made it a point to switch off television sets and music systems early. All food was brought to my table so that there would be no distractions for me, she said.
Blue Bells School Principal N Bhatti said of the total 146 students who appeared for the exams in their school,23 secured above 90 per cent marks.
Nikita Mittal and Nitisha Sharma of DAV Public School secured the second and third positions respectively in the commerce stream with 96.2 per cent each. Deepika Yadav and Prerna Jain,also of DAV,secured the second and third spots in humanities scoring 93.1 per cent and 90.6 per cent,respectively.
