One pistol and two cartridges were recovered from the house of Khalil’s associate, Khalid Sheikh, following the latter’s arrest.
“It was revealed that Khalil was attempting to reconstruct his gang and arrange weapons for future crimes. In recent days, he and his associates had conducted reconnaissance in the Preet Vihar and Anand Vihar area, near the railway tracks, to identify a suitable house for committing robbery or dacoity. During interrogation, accused Mohammad Khalil and Khalid Sheikh confessed that they had illegally entered India and settled in Delhi,” said Aditya Gautam, DCP, Crime Branch.
Khalil’s criminal footprint spans more than 21 cases, including those of murder, armed robbery, and illegal entry. His record dates back to 2000, with cases filed in Seema Puri, Dwarka, Geeta Colony, and several police stations across Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, and Telangana. Delhi Police announced the cash reward in a case registered against him at Vivek Vihar.
Khalid Sheikh had teamed up with Khalil to facilitate arms procurement and reconnaissance, said the police.
The investigation continues to trace their accomplices and recover additional arms caches linked to the gang’s operations.
