A four-year-old boy,who was sleeping next to his mother and sibling under a tree on the premises of Ram Manohar Lohia (RML) Hospital, went missing on Monday morning.

Police said they received a PCR call around 6.40 am informing that the boy,Faizan, was missing.

When police failed to trace the boy after searching the area,a case of kidnapping was registered at Mandir Marg police station. Police said Mohammad Sadiq, his wife Zarina Khatoon and their three children came to RML Hospital on July 13 from Moradabad for treatment of their elder son,Shahid, who is suffering from tuberculosis.

“He has been admitted to the hospital, while the family was staying inside the compound,” a police officer said. “At 4 am Khatoon found that Faizan was missing.

After she failed to find him,she approached the hospital authorities. Sadiq was inside the ward with his elder son,” the officer said.

“The child’s parents said they had been sleeping under the same tree for the past two days and it was unlikely that the child had wandered off,” the officer said.

Police said the spot is not under CCTV surveillance.
