The accused was presented before Metropolitan Magistrate Pankaj Arora, who rejected his bail plea. He has been sent to judicial custody and the case will come up for hearing on Monday.

The incident occurred on Tuesday when the officials, Yudh Veer Singh, vice-president of Mundka division, T R Bhatia, head of the west division, and Vikrant Seth, chief of Mundka and Nangloi divisions, stopped at a transformer during a routine check in Kammruddhin Nagar.

According to the complaint filed by Singh, Jagdev approached them saying the power companies had created havoc in the city and started beating them.

He then dragged them to one Pradhan’s office in the area. Shokeen did not let them go until police intervened, the complaint stated.

Following the complaint, a case was registered at Nangloi police station under Sections 186 (obstructing a public servant in discharge of duty), 332 (voluntarily causing hurt to deter public servant from his duty), 353 (assault or criminal force to deter public servant from discharge of his duty), 342 (punishment for wrongful confinement), 506 (punishment for criminal intimidation) and 34 (acts done by several persons in furtherance of common intention) of the Indian Penal Code.
