For lavish life,youths take to burglaries
Police arrested four youths from Moti Nagar on on Tuesday for allegedly committing several burglaries in West Delhi.
Police arrested four youths from Moti Nagar on on Tuesday for allegedly committing several burglaries in West Delhi. The youths had committed the crimes to make money to lead a lavish lifestyle,police said.
Fifty mobile phones,a gold necklace,two gold rings,a silver bracelet and equipment required for breaking into houses,including a gas cutter,were recovered from their possession.
Vicky,Ajay,Sunil Kumar and Kuldeep — all aged 19 — were arrested from near ESI Hospital after police received a specific input about their activities in the locality.
“The four youths wanted easy money for their lavish lifestyles. One of them wanted to live a comfortable life in India,while others wanted to tour the world. But none of them had enough money for all this. So these youths took to committing burglaries,” said Additional DCP (West),Rishi Pal.
He added that while Vicky wanted to have an expensive car to impress his girlfriend,Ajay was inspired by Gajni movie and wanted to become a body builder. “Sunil and Kuldeep wanted to go on a world tour.
The gang was very much active in West Delhi and committed more than a dozen burglaries,” Pal added.
Initially,they committed only petty thefts,then,as their confidence grew they took to break-ins at bungalows and houses.
The youth told police they were from poor families and they had to discontinue studies due to financial problems.
