A foot-overbridge connecting the Jasola Metro station with the Apollo Hospital,which would be of great help to patients and residents of the area,was made operational on Sunday. The foot-overbridge was constructed by the Delhi Metro across the National Highway 2.
The 60-meter long pedestrian bridge situated at a height of more than 5.5 meters above the road level was constructed in two months. The bridge will also have provisions for a lift and an escalator in the next two months for the convenience of Metro commuters,said DMRC spokesperson Anuj Dayal. In addition,the DMRC also plans to construct two more FOBs at Sarita Vihar and Mohan Estate Metro Stations by the first quarter of 2011.
The Jasola-Apollo Metro station is part of the Central Secretariat-Badarpur Standard Gauge corridor opened to the public on October 3.
