Fire in LN Hospital X-ray room

A fire broke out in the X-ray room of Lok Nayak Hospital on Sunday evening,Fire officials said.

A fire broke out in the X-ray room of Lok Nayak Hospital on Sunday evening,Fire officials said. The fire was reported around 6.30 pm and four fire tenders were sent to the spot,they said. No injuries were reported. The fire in the X-ray room on the hospital’s ground floor was brought under control within an hour,officials said.

16-yr-old girl found dead in Gokulpuri

The body of a 16-year old girl was found in Northeast Delhi’s Gokulpuri area on Sunday morning. Police have prima facie ruled out sexual assault and registered a case of murder. The girl’s brother was murdered in April and police are probing whether the two incidents were related. The girl was identified as Huma Kausar. Police were waiting for the post-mortem report for the cause of death.

Youth jumps to death in Janakpuri

A 24-year-old man — Rahul Kumar — allegedly committed suicide by jumping from the fourth floor of the Janakpuri District Centre in West Delhi around 4 pm on Sunday. Police said the man had slashed one of his fingers and had written a woman’s name on the wall of the building. Rahul was a resident of Uttam Nagar and worked in his father’s factory in South Delhi.

Sewer lines to be laid in all regularised colonies

Sewer lines have been laid in 100 regularised colonies in the city and all such colonies would be covered soon,Delhi’s Urban Development and Revenue Minister Arvinder Singh Lovely said on Sunday. The Minister inaugurated work on a 1,600-m long sewer line at Gandhi Nagar in East Delhi,which will be ready within 11 months.

Tamil passengers’ body demands more trains

The Delhi Tamil Rail passengers’ association demanded improved frequency of trains to Tamil Nadu in its annual general body meeting held last week. The meeting was presided over by president A Lenin Jothi and the demands included a daily train service to south Tamil Nadu from Delhi and improved frequency of Nizamuddin-Chennai Rajdhani Express.
