The Delhi court had also ordered an FIR against former AAP MLA Gulab Singh and the then Dwarka councillor in the case.
Along with Kejriwal, the court had also earlier ordered an FIR against former AAP MLA Gulab Singh and then Dwarka councillor Nitika Sharma. (File Image) The Delhi Police on Friday told a court that they registered a case against former chief minister Arvind Kejriwal on March 26 for the alleged misuse of funds in putting up “illegal” hoardings in Dwarka.
On March 11, Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate (ACJM) Neha Mittal of Rouse Avenue Court had ordered the filing of a First Information Report (FIR) against Kejriwal in the case following a complaint by Shiv Kumar Saxena who had alleged that the former CM during his tenure was “misusing public money by putting huge size hoardings” in various places at Dwarka.
“The seriousness of the offence… can be gauged from the fact that it is not only an eyesore and public nuisance, thereby destroying the aesthetic sense of the city, but is also hazardous… to the smooth flow of traffic by distracting traffic and poses a safety challenge to pedestrians and vehicles. Deaths caused by the collapse of illegal hoardings are not new in India,” she said in her order dated March 11.
