A 40-year-old man was arrested on Wednesday for allegedly raping his 11-year-old daughter in South Delhi’s Malviya Nagar area. The child’s mother told police her husband had been raping the girl for the last three months.
“The complainant, a 38-year-old woman, alleged that her husband had been raping their 11-year-old daughter for the last three months. The girl spoke about it to her mother on Wednesday morning after which the woman filed a complaint at the Malviya Nagar police station around 8.30 am,” a senior police officer said.
Police registered a case of rape under Section 376 of the IPC and appropriate sections of the POCSO Act. Police said the accused, a tailor, was arrested from his house and the child was sent for a medical examination at AIIMS. Police said the accused has four daughters and one son.
Meanwhile, another incident of a four-year-old being raped was reported from Central Delhi’s Anand Parbat on Tuesday. Police apprehended a 16-year-old juvenile, who was the girl’s neighbour.
According to police, the 16-year-old allegedly lured the child to a secluded area and raped her. Some local residents caught him and reported the matter to her father, a rickshawpuller, who filed a police complaint. The juvenile was sent to a correctional home.
