Medical help in Gurgaon and Delhi might very soon be available at just the press of a button.

With an aim to provide door-to-door medical services,Gurgaon-based Rapid Rescue Services has launched an emergency medical rescue service across the Capital and Gurgaon.

Colonel (Retd) Rahul Pandey,in-charge of operations and HR said: “In case of an emergency, registered members in both Delhi and Gurgaon will be attended to by doctors within a time span of 30 minutes. We aim to provide fast, effective and reliable medical service. To help the team reach the patient faster, the company has bought 30 modified bikes, which have Global Positioning System (GPS) installed and blink-lights mounted on them. This will not only help the doctor find the exact location of the patient, but will also make sure he reaches the patient as fast as possible even during peak traffic hours. The service will be available 24X7,365 days a year,to all customers signed into a plan,in Delhi and Gurgaon.”

The team at present comprises 30 bikes and a team of 30 MBBS doctors and riders.

“Other than these doctors,we have the facility of three general physicians at our customer care centre for members who want by-phone consultation. Members are also free to call any number of times,” said Pandey.

The company has floated two types of memberships – Gold and Silver. The annual subscription charge for the gold membership is Rs 15,000 per person; any additional membership will cost Rs 7,500.

“Gold members will be located using a GPS key ring. In the event of an emergency, the customer has to press a predefined number on their mobile phone. This will send a message to the customer-care centre, who will inform the nearest team.”

Silver membership customers need to call the toll free number — 1800 102 3005.

They would be given medical treatment at the incident scene and,in case of a life-threatening emergency, can be taken to the nearest or desired hospital in an ambulance. The annual subscription fee for two members of a family is Rs 10,000 per year. Additional membership costs Rs 2,000. Apart from patients’ preferences, the company is also in the process of tying up with prominent hospitals across the two cities — Max Healthcare,Moolchand Hospital,Apollo and a few government hospitals.

“We have the nod from several hospitals but are yet to sign a formal contract, which will ensure that our members get a hassle-free admission and treatment,” added Pandey.
