Police identified the deceased as Rinku, a resident of Ghaziabad.

Prashali Gangwar, Assistant Commissioner of Police, Central Noida 2nd, said that Rinku was spotted on the premises of Gaur City 2, around 4 pm on Friday, and two labourers working in the area, identified as Anand and Sandeep Kumar, allegedly accosted him. “They hit him with sticks or a plastic pipe. Both later took him to a nearby private hospital, where doctors declared him dead,” said Gangwar.

Station House Officer, Bisrakh, Manoj Kumar Singh, said, “ A security guard first spotted Rinku. There was some construction work going on there. The guard then informed the two labourers who approached him and started making enquiries before beating him up.”

Kumar said that upon realising that Rinku’s condition may be serious after he lost consciousness following the beating, they took him to the Sarvottam hospital.

“We were informed of the death via a hospital memo around 6:30 pm. The family members of the deceased were informed and the body has been sent for post-mortem,” said a police officer.

According to the police, an FIR has been registered under section 105 (Punishment for culpable homicide not amounting to murder) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita on the basis of a complaint given by Rinku’s family members on Saturday and both men were arrested.

Police said it appears that the severe beating might have led to internal bleeding or they might have accidentally hit him at a sensitive spot which led to his death. The post-mortem report would reveal the exact cause of death, police said.
