The Delhi University Teachers’ Association (DUTA) on Wednesday wrote a letter to the Ministry of Human Resource Development, seeking an enquiry into an alleged pending case of plagiarism against Vice-Chancellor Dinesh Singh and also demanded his resignation over the issue. The body had also included the issue in the white paper taken out by it.

“The ministry has constituted a committee to enquire into allegations of plagiarism in regard to some professors in Delhi University. DUTA has, therefore, demanded that the case against Singh be included in the terms of reference of this committee. DUTA has further demanded that Singh be removed from office pending the probe,” Nandita Narain, DUTA president, said.

According to Narain, the alleged case was reported in 2012.

The services of a DU teacher found guilty on the same charge had been terminated in the past, she added.
