At least seven Delhi University students were injured,two severely,after they were attacked and beaten with rods by unidentified men near Jubilee Hall in Maurice Nagar,North Delhi.
All seven students are from the Northeastern states on the country.
The students said on the night of February 24,they were on their way to Jubilee Hall when they were attacked by a group of nine men. The students said they were crossing a dark alley when they were attacked.
Naorem Roshan (26),a student of anthropology,was admitted to ICU in Sant Parmanand Hospital with severe head injuries. He was discharged on Tuesday night.
Dr Ramanand Singh,Assistant Professor at Kirori Mal College,who is coordinating with police on behalf of the students,said: They dont know why they were attacked without any provocation. The attackers did not make any racist comments,but attacked them from the back. They did not say a word while beating the students. They fled after assaulting the students.
The students rushed the those who were severely injured to the hospital. A case has been registered at the Maurice Nagar police station. No arrest has been made so far.
