Formally initiating the admission process for its four-year undergraduate programme,Delhi University on Monday published admission guidelines on its website. While undergraduate courses have seen a shift from the existing three-year format, the admission policy of DU has not changed much this year.
According to the notification, dated May 13,admission to the four-year programme will be based on a major discipline (Discipline -1). Students will have to opt for a major discipline in which they will get an Honours or a BTech degree after four years. Students can study up to two subjects as minor discipline, which they can choose after the first year.
Students will have to fill out pre-admission forms available online or sold over the counter at the university level. There will be no form for specific colleges, the notification stated.
Colleges will admit students who meet the cut-off percentage. No first-come-first served policy is permitted, the guidelines stated. Moreover,a student cannot take admission in two courses or in two colleges simultaneously.
Unlike last year, additional eligibility criterion for SC/ST,OBC,PWD categories have been done away with and registration has been decentralised. The additional eligibility criterion for general category should also be discouraged or kept to the minimum.
Students seeking admission through Sports and ECA categories can approach colleges for Sport/ECA admission forms.
