The Special Cell busted a gang that supplies the drug pseudoepherdrine from the capital to Myanmar,through the Northeast states. Police have also recovered 200 kg of the drug,which is used to make party drugs . The drug recovered,police said,was worth Rs 10 crore in the international market.
Special Commissioner of Police (Special Cell) S N Shrivastava said during the interrogation of an accused,the name of Mohammed Asgar alias Asgar had come up.
After his arrest from Jamia Nagar on Tuesday,Asgar told police that about his associates Mohammed Shaker and Abdul Kalam,who were later arrested from a godown in Noornagar. The three confessed that they smuggled the drugs to Manipur,from where it was sent to Myanmar and China.
