Delhi Police have arrested a 26-year-old woman and a doctor for allegedly assaulting a man after their Mercedes brushed against his bike in Connaught Place on Tuesday night. The woman later misbehaved with a doctor at Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital, claimed police.
Police said the doctor, Prashant Aggarwal (45) and his friend Neha Jamal, were inebriated and were driving past Gate No. 6 of Rajiv Chowk metro station when their car brushed against a bike, throwing the biker Sonu and his colleague off it. Policesaid both of them were injured. An argument between Sonu and Aggarwal followed, during which the doctor allegedly assaulted him. Neha too started abusing the biker and his colleague, alleged police.

Onlookers captured a video of the incident, which purportedly shows Neha screaming at Sonu, “Once I call my dad you will be in trouble…What’s your name…Soon you are going to be ******”
On reaching the spot, police took them to RML hospital for medical examination. There too, Neha allegedly created a ruckus and “abused” the resident doctor. Another video shot at the hospital purportedly shows her telling the doctor, “Yeh Delhi Police hai kaamchor…you leave us…ho gaya hai examination… Dont shout at me…Who the hell are you…Just shut your mouth.” She goes on, “…teri aukaat nahi hai naa to mujhse baat na kar…mere ko do ladke chahiye jo mujhe ched rahe the…I want them…(I want the two men who were harassing me).” Neha has accused Sonu of molesting her during the scuffle, a matter police is looking into. A policeman is seen telling her, “If there is a complaint, please give your statement.” Neha replies, “I have written a statement and you don’t know to read.”
A source in the hospital said that when she was brought to the emergency wing to test for presence of alcohol in blood, she stared abusing the doctor. “A senior resident doctor was abused while he was trying to get a blood sample. Both the man and the woman were inebriated,” said the source.
Police said they have lodged two FIRs. “One has been registered under Sections 279 and 323 of IPC at Connaught Place police station and the other for obstructing public official in discharging duty at the North Avenue police station,” DCP, New Delhi, Jatin Narwal said. He added that the two were produced in court Wednesday and sent to a one-day judicial custody. Police said they had seized the car.
Police said Prashant Agarwal is a surgeon at a private hospital and Neha earlier worked as an HR manager with the same hospital. Her father owns a petrol pump in UP’s Saharanpur.
