Doctor on whom acid was thrown gets Rs 3 lakh relief

The doctor was riding her two-wheeler to work in West Delhi’s Rajouri Garden area when the men threw acid on her.

The District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) of West district has requested the nodal Delhi State Legal Services Authority to release Rs 3 lakh as interim relief to a 30-year-old doctor who was attacked with acid by two bike-borne youths on December 23.

The doctor was riding her two-wheeler to work in West Delhi’s Rajouri Garden area when the men threw acid on her, burning the right side of her face. DLSA (West) secretary Arul Varma said, “The family incurred heavy medical expenses in the treatment of the victim. It is submitted that for rehabilitation and medication of the victim, interim relief may be granted.”
