Docs take samples of pills that Rathi took

Since the autopsy report “was taking some time”,four doctors went to her parents’ house and took samples of the medicines to ascertain the cause of death.

Preliminary investigation suggested that she committed suicide as a scarf was found around her neck.

“In suicide cases,it takes time to prepare the post-mortem report. The doctors might be having some problem in compiling the report in this case,too. So,they visited the house for additional information,” a hospital official said.

The report is expected by Friday. “The facts will be clear once the report is out. The cause of death will determine the investigation,” a police officer said.

Akanksha had reportedly slipped into depression after her husband,Anirudh Rathi,died of a cardiac arrest in September in Indore. She came to live with parents K P Singh and Anita after Anirudh’s death.

Moreover,she had filed a dowry harassment complaint against her in-laws in Indore on October 16.

Akanksha attended school at Convent of Jesus and Mary before joining Jesus and Mary College in Delhi. She went on to attend University of California,Berkeley,where she met Anirudh.

Her mother claimed that Anirudh’s family members were opposed to the match. But he managed to persuade his family and the couple tied the knot in 2004 in Delhi.

A few months after the wedding,the couple moved to Indore to look after a new factory that Anirudh’s grandfather had set up. The situation changed after Anirudh’s grandfather passed away and the factory had to be sold.
