Bhutan Prime Minister Tshering Tobgay, who is on his second visit to India, had a small delegation accompany him for the swearing-in ceremony of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He arrived in the capital on Sunday and was put up at the Leela Palace in Chanakyapuri.
Since the PM’s flight arrived late, he remained at the hotel attending only private courtesy calls, Bhutan embassy sources said.
“A group of BJP leaders, including BJP MPs Meenakshi Lekhi and Vijay Goel, paid him a visit. He also met Joint Secretary (North) Ministry of External Affairs, President and the Director General of the Confederation of the Indian Industries and members of the Antar-Rashtriya Sahayog Parishad,” an embassy spokesperson said.
