A woman, who worked with the Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC), was allegedly raped by her former colleague and two of his friends in separate incidents in Delhi.
According to the police Wednesday, the main accused allegedly targeted the woman on the pretext of giving her work, while his friends raped her after promising to help her. The police have arrested one person in connection with the crime, which took place in North Delhi, and are interrogating him.
As per the police, the woman said she was a typist at DTC from 2010 to 2017 and stopped working after she had a baby. In 2021, she shifted to North Delhi where she met the main accused who works as a DTC conductor.
“The accused went to her house and gave her sweets. She also served him a cold drink. She told us the accused promised to get her job back at DTC. She went inside her room to scout for her papers. When she came back and had the sweets and drink, she fainted. The accused raped her and took obscene photos/videos of her. She has alleged that he blackmailed her for sexual favours,” said S S Kalsi, DCP North District.
According to the police, the woman then approached one of his friends to delete the photo. The second accused, on the pretext of helping her with the matter, also allegedly raped her and threatened her.
“The woman was then raped by another man who approached her to help her with the case. He’s also the friend of the main accused…” added Kalsi.
A case of rape has been registered against the three men and the matter is being investigated, said a police officer. Teams have been sent to arrest the other accused.
