Delhi woman found dead in East London last year: Police in UK charge husband with two counts of rape, murder
A post-mortem examination at the Leicester Royal Infirmary on November 15 listed strangulation as the preliminary cause of death. The Northamptonshire Police named the husband as the prime suspect.
DCP (Southwest) Surendra Chaudhary said after it was confirmed that he had arrived in Delhi, a Look Out Circular (LOC) was opened against him.
The Indian man, whose wife’s body was found in the boot of his car in East London on November 14 last year, has been charged by the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) and Northamptonshire Police with two counts of
rape, sexual assault, and controlling or coercive behaviour, alongside murder.

In a joint statement released on Wednesday, the Northamptonshire Police and Samantha Shallow from the Crown Prosecution Service said: “The CPS has reviewed a file of evidence submitted by Northamptonshire Police, and has authorised a charge of murder…” The statement added that the man had also been “charged with two counts of rape, sexual assault, and controlling or coercive behaviour”.
