The central security agencies have issued Delhi Police a terror alert about a possible attack from a Pakistan-based terror outfit.
Police said the attack could be similar to the March 21 “fidayeen” attack carried out on the army camp in Samba in Kashmir.
Security agencies received intelligence inputs about a possible attack and the Home Ministry issued the Delhi Police and government bodies an advisory.
No time period was specified in relation to the number of days the alert is on for, a senior police officer said.
The DCPs of all 11 districts have been informed and asked to step up security measures and conduct stringent checks in their areas.
All beat policemen have been asked to keep strict vigil in busy market areas and crowded places.
