A 45-year-old French national was allegedly cheated of 47,000 Euros by three men posing as police officers in Karol Bagh. The incident comes days after three men allegedly cheated an employee of a grain businessman of Rs 1.10 crore from Karol Bagh, by posing as Income Tax and Crime Branch officials.

Police said Yousef came to Delhi last week to purchase bridal dresses. “The incident took place Sunday evening when he was returning to his hotel on Channa Market Road. He was stopped by three men, who came in a car posing as officers. They said that they wanted to frisk Yousef for drugs,” said Mandeep Singh Randhawa, DCP (Central).

During “frisking”, they checked Yousef’s passport, took 47,000 Euros from his purses and fled the spot. “Footage from CCTV cameras installed in the area is being examined to identify the accused. Yousef hails from Morocco and holds French citizenship,” an officer said.
