An IMD bulletin issued on Saturday said that the maximum temperature over northwest India could see a gradual rise by 3 to 5 degrees in the next five days. (While Delhi has been seeing cooler-than-normal nights this week, a gradual rise in temperature is expected over the week ahead, going by the India Meteorological Department’s (IMD) forecast.
The minimum temperature early on Saturday was 10 degrees Celsius, four degrees below the normal. The minimum temperature has remained below 10 degrees Celsius all week, when the normal or long-period average for this time of the year is 13 to 14 degrees Celsius.
With a western disturbance bringing strong winds of 20 to 30 kmph to Delhi, the maximum temperature on Saturday was 26.9 degrees, a notch below normal. This is set to rise next week.

With this, the maximum temperature in Delhi could rise to around 31 degrees by March 12, while the minimum temperature could remain at around 12 or 13 degrees next week, going by the forecast.
Another western disturbance is likely to affect northwest India from March 12 onwards, and very light rainfall and strong winds of 25 to 35 kmph are on the forecast for Delhi on March 13, according to the IMD. The rest of the week is likely to remain dry.
