Delhi techie held for rape of Class XII student,extorting Rs 3 lakh

A 24-year-old hardware engineer was arrested from Rohini,Northwest Delhi,for allegedly raping and extorting money from a Class XII student of a private school.

The girl told police that she met Rohit Sood through social networking site Facebook and the two developed a physical relationship after the man promised her marriage.

“The arrest was made on June 3 on a complaint by the 17-year-old girl,” a police officer said. Her medical examination confirmed rape. Police said Sood had clicked photographs of the girl. The girl alleged that Sood took Rs 3 lakh from her and in the last week of May,asked for Rs 6 lakh more.
