The Delhi Police Special Cell Sunday arrested two more accused in the Sidhu Moosewala murder case. One of the accused, a 19-year-old Ankit Sirsa, is allegedly among the assailants who gunned down Moosewala in May. His associate, Sachin Bhiwani, is accused of helping assailants after the murder. Both Bhiwani and Sirsa are members of the Goldy Brar-Lawrence Bishnoi gang who claimed responsibility for the murder in a social media post.

According to sources, Sirsa and his associates stayed in over 35 locations in Haryana, Rajasthan and Punjab, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh and Jharkhand to evade arrest. They were changing their hideout every day.

On Monday, Special Commissioner of Police (Special Cell) HGS Dhaliwal told the media that a team of Special Cell arrested the two men from Kashmere Gate bus stop late at night. Sirsa is accused of firing bullets at Moosewala using two pistols simultaneously while Bhiwani is accused of handling the operations of the gang. Sirsa is involved in two cases of attempted murder in Rajasthan and Haryana, said police.

The police recovered two pistols, two mobile phones and 3 Punjab Police uniforms from their possession. Sources said the accused had bought the uniforms to pose as policemen and avoid any suspicion and cross state borders easily.

A team under DCP Pramod Singh Kushwah arrested other assailants Priyavrat (26) and Kashish (24) in June along with Keshav Kumar, who also harboured the shooters after the murder. The three were caught near Mundra port.

“Our teams have been looking for the shooters. After the arrest of the main shooter Priyavrat, we found significant leads and started looking for the other associates. They have been hiding for more than a month and were changing locations to evade arrest. Our team traced them and arrested them in Delhi,” said the source.

Dhaliwal said Sirsa is a close aide of the main shooter Priyavrat and both hail from Haryana. He was the closest to Moosewala’s vehicle at the time of firing and used two pistols.

Police also found videos and photos on Sirsa’s phone after the arrest. One of the videos shows the assailants sitting in a car and brandishing weapons. Sources said it was a celebratory video that was shot after Moosewala’s murder. Sirsa, one of the youngest member of the gang, joined with the help of gangster Sampat Nehra, who had allegedly planned to kill Bollywood actor Salman Khan. Pictures of Sirsa posing with bullets and weapons have also been recovered. In one of the photos ‘Moosewala’ is written using the bullets.

“Bhiwani provided shelter to four of the assailants and helped them escape to other states. He is wanted in an extortion case in Rajasthan. He and Sirsa worked on the directions of Lawrence Bishnoi. He came out of jail last year. On July 3, we received information that the men would come to ISBT Delhi to commit another offence. We sent a team and arrested them,” said Dhaliwal.

Jailed gangster Lawrence Bishnoi has been communicating with his aides using apps such as Signal and Telegram. Two modules were sent to eliminate Moosewala. One module was travelling in a Bolero car while the other was in a Corolla car.

The accused Kashish was driving the Bolero and was accompanied by Sira, Deepak Munde and Priyavrat. While assailants Jagdeep Roopa and Manpreet Manu were in Corolla. Roopa, Manu and Munde are still on the run.
