Delhi Police’s IFSO no longer a part of Special Cell, to work independently

The Intelligence Fusion and Strategic Operations (IFSO)– previously part of the Special Cell unit – will now function as a separate entity, a Delhi Police order dated December 3 stated.

The order said that the separation has been done for ‘administrative’ purposes. The decision arose as the Special Cell works as the Anti-Terror unit of the Delhi Police and the work of the IFSO does not fall under its mandate.

All officers working in the IFSO will now report to DCP, IFSO. The separation will be beneficial for the unit considering that cyber crime cases are on the rise.
