After high-speed chase by cops, Parsvnath CEO arrested at Delhi Airport

It was around noon on Saturday when the Delhi Police received a tip-off that the Managing Director and CEO of Parsvnath Developers, Sanjeev Kumar Jain, was allegedly set to flee the country.
A few weeks ago, on July 18, a non-bailable warrant had been issued against Jain by the National Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission (NCDRC) in connection with a consumer complaint; Jain was a no-show, said officials.
So when the Shahdara district’s Special Task Force (STF) got the tip that Jain would head to Indira Gandhi International (IGI) Airport, it wasted no time. Several STF teams quickly set off for DLF Phase 2 in Gurgaon, where Jain lived, in half a dozen police vehicles, said an officer.
The officer added that by the time they reached his residence, Jain had already left in his private vehicle. The vehicles set course for the airport.
A few kilometres leading up to the IGI Airport, they spotted Jain’s vehicle. What followed next was a high-speed chase — the police vehicles stayed close behind Jain, tailing him all the way to the airport, from where they finally arrested him, said police.
DCP (Shahdara) Surender Choudhary said the STF apprehended Jain from the airport on August 3.
The DCP said that a non-bailable warrant had been issued against him by the Joint Registrar, NCDRC, in the matter of an execution application in a consumer complaint of 2017, filed by Rajat Babbar & Anr Vs Ms. Parsvnath Developers Pvt. Ltd. The non-bailable warrant was issued against Jain on July 18, but he did not appear before the commission.

Four non-bailable warrants and one bailable warrant from the National Commission were pending at Shahdara police station against Jain, said police.
“After sincere efforts, alleged accused Sanjeev Kumar Jain, Director of Parsvnath Developers Ltd, was apprehended on August 3 and consequently arrested in all non-bailable warrants issued against him,” said the DCP.
On August 4, Jain was produced before the NCDRC, he added.
