8-year-old girl rescued from kidnapper within 24 hours: Delhi Police

While the authorities inspected the CCTV footage of the area, they also questioned the family members and relatives to look at the possibility of personal animosity. The CCTV footage analysis revealed that the man came from the South Extension-1 bus stop and took the girl in the same direction.

The police then combed through the footage from CCTVs installed inside buses stationed at the Kashmere Gate Interstate Bus Terminus (ISBT). They found the accused boarded a DTC bus at Safdarjung Hospital and got down at South Extension-1. After inspecting the footage at metro stations, the police found the man got off at the Qutub Minar Metro Station before taking a bus to Andheria Mor.

The police conducted a search in the slum areas in Andheria Mor where they finally tracked down the man’s house where the girl had been kept. While Arjun has still not revealed his motive to the authorities, he said he was a glass toymaker and came to Kotla Mubarak Pur to buy glass when he saw the girl playing in front of her house.

“There are no criminal antecedents found of the accused person. However, efforts are on to know his involvement in the same nature of crime in the past,” said Ankit Chauhan, Deputy Commissioner of Police South.
