Delhi News Highlights: Incessant rainfall throughout the day on Saturday brought the maximum temperature down sharply in Delhi and resulted in waterlogging in some parts of the city. The maximum temperature at the Safdarjung weather station settled at 23.4 degrees Celsius on Saturday, ten degrees below the normal for this time of the year. The normal maximum temperature for this time of the year is 33.8 degrees Celsius. It is under the influence of a western disturbance interacting with easterly winds that Delhi-NCR has seen overcast skies and rainfall on Friday and Saturday. According to IMD scientists, moisture incursion from the Arabian Sea has been high.

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal hit back at Lieutenant Governor V K Saxena after the latter accused him of floating baseless accusations to fool the public. Continuing with his love letter jibe, Kejriwal said: “BJP is hell bent on destroying the lives of the people of Delhi. Every day, these people make a fuss about something or the other. I assure all Delhiites, don’t worry as your son is alive. I will not let anyone harm you.”

Saxena, in a letter to the CM on Saturday, wrote: “I regret that you and your leaders besides crossing all the limits of dignity, are running away from the responsibility of constitutional duties and governance. Your government which runs on the support of ads and bhashans (debates) seems to be alienating from orginal work.  When I raised this matter, you and your leaders, instead of providing answers, made the public fool and imposed baseless allegations and personally attacks on me.”
