Delhi News Highlights: Samajwadi Party leader Mulayam Singh Yadav, who was admitted to Medanta hospital in Gurgaon today, has been shifted to the ICU ward of the hospital after his health deteriorated. The official Twitter handle of the Samajwadi Party tweeted that the neta’s health condition is stable. Akhilesh Yadav, his wife Dimple Yadav, and a few family members have reportedly reached the hospital.
On other updates, Two men allegedly killed a six-year-old boy as “human sacrifice” by slitting his throat in South Delhi’s Lodhi Colony in the intervening night of Saturday and Sunday, said the police. The incident took place at the under-construction Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) headquarters. The accused, identified as Vijay Kumar and Amar Kumar, were arrested. The boy’s parents and the accused work as construction labourers, said the police. According to the police, a call was received at 12.40 am from the security staff at the CRPF headquarters.
The New Delhi area administered by New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) was adjudged the ‘cleanest small city’ in the category of cities with one to three lakh inhabitants in the Swachh Survekshan 2022 rankings released Saturday. Last year also, New Delhi bagged the first rank in the category. The NDCM said the New Delhi area was also adjudged a “five-star garbage-free city” and “water-plus certified” city. The Swachhta Sarvekshan is the Centre’s yearly survey on cleanliness under the ‘Swachh Bharat’ mission.
