Delhi Air Quality Index (AQI) Level Today, 9 December 2025: Parts of Delhi were enveloped by a layer of thick haze early Tuesday, with the air quality remaining in the ‘poor’ category at 294, according to the Air Quality Early Warning System (EWS) for Delhi.

The AQI hovered between “poor” and “very poor” categories across Delhi and the National Capital Region (NCR), as of 5:30 am on Tuesday.

Bawana recorded the highest AQI of 342, followed by Jahangirpuri and Pusa at 331, and Nehru Nagar at 325, according to the EWS data.

Here’s a list of top areas where AQI remained in the “very poor” category:

The AQI in other parts of Delhi remained in the “poor” category, with Narela recording an AQI  of 298, followed by Sri Aurobindo Marg (296), Dilshad Garden (295), Okhla Phase 2 (294), Burari Crossing (292), Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium (287), North Campus, DU (282), and Najafgarh (281).

According to CPCB, an Air Quality Index (AQI) between 0 and 50 is classified “good”, 51 to 100 “satisfactory”, 101 to 200 “moderate”, 201 to 300 “poor”, 301 to 400 “very poor” and 401 to 500 “severe”.

AQI in NCR

The air quality in Gurgaon was recorded in the ‘very poor’ category, with the reading at Sector 51 monitoring station showing an AQI of 313, as of 7 am, the CPCB data showed. Meanwhile, the Teri Gram monitoring station showed the AQI to be 318.

Greater Noida recorded an AQI of 302, whereas in Noida, the reading touched 314, the CPCB data showed at 7 am.
