Riding high on laurels for efficiency, the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) is now training engineers from across the country on the functioning of the Metro Rail. Engineers from the Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation (BMRC) were taken inside the underground Metro corridor and given tips on the emergency system, signalling procedures among others.

The DMRC provided a month-long training programme to engineers from the BMRC who had come to the Capital to get a first-hand account of the functioning and working of the Delhi Metro. During the course of their training module at the Delhi Metro Training School, which ended this week, they were provided inputs on the functioning and working of the Delhi Metro, the latest technology used here, the telecom and signalling system,over-head electrification,round-the-clock power supply, emergency systems and construction methods, apart from a visit to a tunnel under construction for the Race Course Road Metro Station. The visit provided them a chance to view a Tunnel-Boring Machine (TBM) in action.

Trainees learned how to start the train, pick up acceleration, decelerating, braking, opening and closing of doors, communication within the train, handling emergency situations, etc.

Anuj Dayal, spokesperson for DMRC said: “The trainees were also given inputs on general management and personality development to sharpen their managerial skills.”
