(Image: frontlinedefenders.org) The Delhi High Court Monday directed a trial court to preserve the case diaries of a Northeast Delhi riots probe conducted by the Jafrabad police against activist Devangana Kalita.
The direction came after Kalita, who is also an accused in the larger conspiracy case of the 2020 Delhi riots, moved the high court.
Justice Jasmeet Singh of the Delhi High Court further stated that any decision of the trial court will be subject to the final decision of the high court in the present plea. The court has kept the matter next for January 31.
Kalita sought the setting aside of the November 6 order of the judicial magistrate first class (JMFC) of Delhi’s Karkardooma court. The trial court had refused to delve into her allegations that case diaries were tampered with.
