Two days after he allegedly got into a scuffle with seven unidentified persons, a 40-year-old security guard died at a government hospital in the capital late Saturday evening.

According to police, Manish Gupta allegedly got into a fight with some people Friday. However, a senior police officer said, “The incident did not lead to his death. He had no external injuries.”

A case of culpable homicide amounting to murder has been registered at Noida Sector 20 police station under IPC Section 304.

Meanwhile, his nephew, Ankit, alleged that Gupta succumbed to injuries that he suffered during the scuffle.

“A car had stopped near the office where my uncle used to work. He asked the driver and passengers to park elsewhere. They beat him up so mercilessly that he died of injuries.”

An officer said, “It was a minor fight. His postmortem report will make it clear, but initial medical examination has shown he did not die of external injuries. He had been unwell for a while. He had first gone to a local doctor in Nithari Friday. When he continued to feel unwell, he was admitted to a government hospital in Delhi, where he died due to other health complications.”
