Delhi govt nod to new court complex at Rouse Avenue
According to the Delhi government, two blocks will be constructed as part of the project, the first of which will have 11 storeys, including three basements.

Finance Minister Atishi has approved the construction of a new district court complex, in a move that is aimed at eventually reducing pendency in court cases in the capital.
To be constructed at a cost of Rs 427 crore, the new complex with 55 courtrooms will soon come up at Rouse Avenue, according to a statement from Delhi government.

“In the meeting of the Expenditure Finance Committee, Finance Minister Atishi approved this project. She said that speedy and accessible justice is the fundamental right of every Indian and this is possible only when adequate infrastructure is available in the courts,” the government stated.
At present, she said, there is a huge burden of pending cases on judges and courts across the country, due to which there is unnecessary delay in the disposal of cases.
“This is a very important project towards enhancing the judicial infrastructure of Delhi and after its completion, it will be of great help in disposal of judicial cases quickly. In this project, better public facilities will also be created keeping in mind the convenience of judges, lawyers and citizens,” she further said.

According to the Delhi government, two blocks will be constructed as part of the project, the first of which will have 11 storeys, including three basements.
The other block will consist of 55 courtrooms across 17 storeys, including three basements; 815 lawyer chambers will be built in both building blocks that will be connected by a skywalk.
