Delhi BJP MLA Sharma asked too pay heavy fine for ‘mike damage’

The Assembly Thursday approved the ethics committee’s decision to recover Rs 18, 560 from the salary of BJP MLA O P Sharma for allegedly damaging a mike in the House.

Speaker Ram Niwas Goel read out the committee report in the House, which alleged that Sharma had shown no signs of regret when asked about his conduct.

Leader of Opposition and BJP MLA Vijender Gupta said, “We are not even allowed to speak…It cannot cost so much to replace a mike… This is sheer harassment”.
