AAP MLA booked for ‘violating’ Covid protocol during visit to Hathras

According to the MLA's Twitter account, he tested positive for the disease on September 29 and met the victim's family on October 4.

AAP MLA Kuldeep Kumar has been booked for alleged violation of Covid protocol during his visit to Hathras to meet the family of the victim.

Kumar, the MLA from Kondli East, visited the family on October 4 after having tested positive on September 29.

“The case has been filed under relevant sections of the Epidemic Act against the leader. The testing and its results will be part of the investigation. Sanitisation has been done in the village. Further inquiry is pending,” said Vineet Jaiswal, Hathras SP.

The FIR has been filed under Section 269 (actions spreading disease), 270 (punishment for such actions), and relevant sections of The Epidemic Act.

Kumar tweeted on September 29, “For the last few days I had some mild fever. Following that I got a Covid 19 test done and my report came out positive. I am currently in Home Isolation. All those who came into contact with me in the last 2-3 days, they should get their test done.”
