The West district police have registered a case of molestation against an employee of Deen Dayal Upadhyay Hospital on the complaint of an woman IPS officer.
On Friday afternoon, the senior officer had gone to DDU hospital to meet a victim of a robbery case, who was admitted at the hospital. Police said the officer was in uniform and was walking through the hospital corridor when a nursing staff — Bachu Khan — allegedly stared at her and passed lewd comments, police said.
When the officer asked him to explain his behaviour, he allegedly manhandled her and tried to walk away, police said. A duty police constable tried to intervene, but two of Khan’s friends — Ajit Yadav and Sheesh Pal — allegedly manhandled the constable, police said.
Khan was beaten by the locals and police after which he was admitted to the same hospital.
Later, the woman officer filed a complaint of molestation and manhandling of a duty constable at the Hari Nagar police station. Hari Nagar police registered a case under section 354, 353 and 186 of the IPC.
Police have also informed DDU hospital’s Medical Superintendent about the incident.
