The Delhi Commission for Women (DCW) Saturday issued notice to several educational institutions and sought details of the number of male, female and transsexual students studying in the institutions and hostel rules applicable to each.

The commission posed eight questions pertaining to hostel rules for boys, girls and transsexual students. It has sought replies from colleges in 15 days.

The move comes in the light of the DCW launching an inquiry into a report — compiled by student activist group called ‘Pinjra Tod’ — alleging that women faced discriminatory rules in hostel accommodations.
