Three fire tenders were dispatched to the airport after the threat.
Five airports, including the Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGIA) in Delhi and the Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport in Mumbai, received bomb threats on Wednesday, said police.
A Delhi Police officer said a threat was received by Indigo airlines around 4 pm via an email, which mentioned that a bomb was placed at Terminal 3 of the IGIA, apart from airports in Mumbai, Thiruvananthapuram, Chennai and Goa. However, after initial checks, the bomb scare was declared a hoax, the officer added.
Three fire tenders were dispatched to the airport after the threat.
The incident comes as the Capital remains on a high alert two days after a high-intensity blast ripped through a slow-moving car near Gate Number 1 of the Red Fort Metro station on Monday evening, killing at least nine persons.
