The Dalai Lama urged school students in Noida on Friday to help create an India that was stable, healthy and morally strong.
The spiritual leader of the Tibetan people was interacting with students and teachers at Step By Step School on the concluding day of a two-day schools’ conclave on ‘Building Compassionate Communities’.
Students posed a series of questions to the Dalai Lama, including “Why do we find being compassionate so difficult?” and “How can you be compassionate with those who have caused you grief?”
The Dalai Lama replied thoughtfully and at length, emphasising ahimsa, peace and tolerance for one other.
The conclave brought together students and teachers from schools across Delhi, NCR and Jammu and Kashmir with the aim of celebrating diversity and cultivate more compassionate educational spaces.
