Delhi Police on Friday conducted a large-scale virtual awareness session on cybercrime for school children and teachers under its Cyber Samvad 2.0 initiative.

The event–organised in collaboration with the Directorate of Education (GNCTD) and the Indian Cyber Crime Coordination Centre (I4C)–connected with lakhs of students from over 1,000 schools in the Capital.

Conducted in hybrid mode, the event saw majority of the participants attending it through online medium from their schools, while around 250 students and teachers attended the session in-person at the Delhi Police Headquarters in Jai Singh Road.

At the event, a street play on cyber safety by the Deep Group engaged the students by highlighting common online risks and threats faced by young users. This was followed by an awareness session by ACP (Intelligence Fusion & Strategic Operations) Manoj Kumar.

ACP Kumar briefed the participants on emerging cyber threats targeting children, including cyberbullying, stalking, grooming, online job frauds and identity threats. He also spoke about rising incidents of cyber slavery and digital arrest scams, explaining warning signs and protective measures.

Kumar emphasised the need for strong cyber hygiene such as two-factor authentication, secure passwords and vigilance on social platforms. At the event, students were also informed about the National Cyber Helpline 1930 and the importance of reporting incidents during the “golden hour”, which often determines whether financial losses can be reversed. The officer also responded to queries raised by students.

Cyber Samvad 2.0 forms part of Delhi Police’s ongoing efforts to build cyber awareness among vulnerable groups in the city.
