‘Customers’ ask for pastry,pump bullets into Gurgaon bakery owner

Two unknown assailants opened fire at the owner of a bakery shop near Sohna Chowk late on Sunday night.

Two unknown assailants opened fire at the owner of a bakery shop near Sohna Chowk late on Sunday night.

According to the Gurgaon Police,two men apparently in their late twenties,entered the Samrat Bakery around 9.15 pm.

“One of them ordered pastries at the counter where the owner Tarun Arora (28) took the order. While one of the employees went to get the order,the second assailant allegedly pulled out a pistol and asked Arora to hand over cash,” said a police officer at the city police station.

An argument ensued and the assailant opened fire at Tarun. “An eyewitness told us that three rounds were fired of which one bullet hit Tarun in the chest. The employees have alleged that Rs 40,000 was robbed from the counter before the armed assailants escaped in a white car,” added the police.

Tarun was rushed to Artemis Hospital where doctors have declared him out of danger. “His vital signs are normal and he will be operated upon Tuesday,” said the police.

“We are not ruling out the possibility of personal enmity which the attackers tried to pass off as robbery,” said the police.
